The Origin of Love: A Sanctuary for Postpartum Care

The design of "The Origin of Love" is inspired by the Chinese postpartum care culture that emphasizes the need for mothers to rest and rejuvenate after childbirth. The center is designed to provide mothers with a level of care akin to royalty, reflecting the importance of this period in a woman's life. The concept of love is central to the design, with the interior radiating joy and vitality, celebrating the miracle of new life.

What sets this project apart is its comprehensive approach to design. The corporate identity design includes interior design, corporate logo, business cards, carry-bag, and even furniture designed specifically for nursing mothers. The earth-tone color scheme, warm timber, metal, and white marble material create a humble yet glamorous ambiance, reflecting the pure love for newborn babies and the care for postnatal mothers.

The design adheres to local architectural load regulations and prioritizes serenity for the recuperating mothers. The partitioning walls are made from acoustic-insulating moisture proof gypsum brick, and building materials low in formaldehyde and environmentally friendly flooring materials are used. The juxtaposition of different materials conveys a warm and loving theme, embodying energy and care.

The facility, covering an area of 150 square meters, includes a variety of rooms and areas designed to cater to the needs of postpartum mothers. These include a welcome lobby, multi-function activity room, mother-and-child play room, hair-washing room, postpartum SPA area, one-on-one consultation room, gym, and open-plan dining and social areas, as well as the baby-care nursery room, observation room, isolation room, and baby swimming room.

The design also takes into account the need for natural light and privacy. Large safety windows provide ample natural light, while the layout of the entrance space, meal delivery trolley, and sliding door of each postpartum care room ensures privacy and a quiet environment for the mothers. The design project, completed in June 2018 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, is a testament to the designer's understanding of the needs of postpartum mothers and their newborns.

The design of "The Origin of Love" has been recognized for its excellence, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is a testament to the creativity, professional expertise, and innovation embodied in the design, which has successfully created a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and emotionally resonant.
